e*thirteen Sidekick Pro Rear Hub
Sidekick Pro Rear Hub - 28h, 148x12mm Boost, Microspline, Black/Sterling Silver
Sidekick Pro Hubs represent a huge step forward in the evolution of Sidekick anti-kickback technology. Rear hubs shed 145g from first-generation hub weights, starting at just 285g. Although all Sidekick hubs are famous for free speed, Sidekick Pro Hubs further reduce drag by 30%, making them the fastest rolling hubs we've ever made. They feature the Sidekick 2.0 freehub mechanism, magnetic pawl-retraction system, an oversized alloy axle, and lighter bearings, as well as a wider 9°/13°/18° adjustable deadband. The 9° narrowest deadband setting provides reasonably quick engagement when climbing is a priority, and tool-free deadband adjustment allows you to increase the degrees of deadband depending on terrain. *Sidekicks Hubs are a revolutionary milestone in mountain bike wheels. Designed and tested with the world’s top teams and racers over multiple seasons, the Sidekick Hub promises to enhance the suspension performance of any full-suspension mountain bike. Its groundbreaking freehub mechanism disengages the drivetrain from the rear wheel when coasting, and an adjustable deadband filters kickback and chain vibration before it reaches the pedals, virtually eliminating pedal feedback effects on suspension. With the drive mechanism disengaged from the ratchet ring, drag is significantly reduced, delivering free speed. The result is an impeccably smooth ride over the roughest terrain, improved traction, heightened speed and control, and less rider fatigue. Reduced chain slap and drivetrain vibration, along with nearly silent hub operation, result in a more immersive riding experience.
Light enough for Trail wheels at just 300g rear / 154g front, yet strong enough for Enduro use
Adjustable pawl-pusher allows tool-free tuning of deadband between 9°, 13°, and 18° suiting bikes from short to long travel
Chain tension filtered by the deadband ensures suspension is unhindered by resistance from pedal kick-back, resulting in improved, more consistent performance
